This is hilarious !
In fact I got many of those where the transit period is just a random pattern layout put out on top of the sample. Zooming in shows nothing but the UI presents a "random" yellow transit. Transit Spectroscopy is an important discipline and CCP is just making it look like a bad joke.
My suggestion, fire that Dev and put a competent person on it. |

Virginia Flake wrote:You're overthinking it. I'm currently between lvl 31 and 32. Most samples are "no transit", most (I guess 3-5%) of the positive samples are super obvious, you can't miss them. Very rarely system will through you a sample that does have a transit but it takes some attention to find the pattern.
From what I understand, system sometimes throws in some random sample with incorrect evaluation or maybe a lot of people read it wrong. Don't worry about it too much - if you see the transit - mark it, if you don't - just go on. Again - 95% of samples are non-transit ones. Click through, once you're over level 10, statistics kicks in and you will get false positives one in 20-30 samples. When I started I've fot to 0,4% accuracy, LOL. Now I'm between 68-78%.
The process is quite grindy, it's more like a clicker really - once you get a hang of it you don't need detrend or fold. But it's quite satisfying to find a pattern in really noisy samples.
Don't give up - it get's simpler.
"Again - 95% of samples are non-transit ones"
No way Jose : if you hit "No Transit" every time you get almost zero % accuracy. That means that if you are right and excluding the Consensus safety net, you get penalized 95% every single time you hit that No Transit.
On 100 samples I get at best 5 obvious ones and the rest is un-doable ! Hitting No Transit is the only option, so.... WTF non-sense is all this !? |
